Russell Dammers is a New Zealand artist, and curator who has had shows in New Zealand, Australia, Chicago, and Marfa TX.

Russell explores movement, tension and the play between dimensions, space and practice. Russell seeks to distil your perception-to breath in its light and undergo a cycle of filtration with artist and process on display. Sight is worked through organic and hard edge shapes, gravity built textures and ritualistic process, Op art aspects keep all in continuous motion. Negative space draws out the shapes which are then eroded with shadow play between layers. Here we find movement between the planes-mesh is always breathing, between the layers, between the eyes and the movement of light.
